Dressing Green

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Ramblers Way. All opinions are 100% mine.

No, it's not a salad recipe. Actually, you're going to think I'm nuts. And maybe I am. I am about to spend a lot more money than I ever thought I would, on a pair of underwear. One pair of ladies' underwear. That's not even the nuts part. Ready? The underwear is made out of wool. You heard me. Wool. It's 80ยบ here in South Florida, and I am buying wool underwear.

You can stop laughing now.

Think about it: Wool is one of the ultimate sustainable fibers produced. By its very nature, it's naturally insulating and cooling, durable, and breathable. Spun properly, it's one of the softest natural fibers in the world.

The people who own Ramblers Way, based in Kennebunk, Maine, were the founders of Tom's of Maine over 40 years ago. Anyone living in or visiting the northeast is familiar with Tom's as a quality maker of natural, eco-friendly personal care products.

They've brought this same philosophy with them to their clothing business, Ramblers Way, and their commitment to quality, to the environment, and even to humane farming practices, has led them to raise their own American Rambouillet sheep to produce a worsted wool yarn so fine, you can wear it next to your skin. That's not all they sell, of course, and they've got clothing for every member of the family.

You know I try to be green. I take my own bags to the market, I don't use chemicals on my garden or my lawn (hell, I haven't even watered my lawn in the seven years we've lived in this house!), and I've been replacing burned out light bulbs with CFL's in every fixture they fit. I try to buy local - or at the very least, domestic - whenever possible, and I drive a hybrid car. I plant native shrubs & flowers, and my backyard is a National Wildlife Federation Certified Backyard Habitat. Those are my creds. And now, I'm going to wear wool underwear.

To learn more, visit the Ramblers Way website. Say Hi to the sheep while you're there.
